This is a short course to introduce you to sewing in 5 classes designed to teach you the very basics needed to get you sewing. You can choose to start with this short course and then decide if you want to carry on with section 2 of the Zero to Hero for Absolute Beginners . Straight sewing and how to guide the fabric How to use and understand a sewing machine Grainlines and cutting About seam allowances First essential sewing tricks Sew a bag with pockets How to make straps Marking and measuring Choosing fabric Lining a project and attaching a lined pocket Attaching a waistband Using basic tools, machine attachments and patterns If you want to continue with part 2 of the 12 session ZERO TO HERO course you will learn basic garment construction techniques and how to use and read patterns correctly. You will discover basic but important skills like cutting, hemming, inserting pockets, zips, how to attach sleeves and a hood, sew with a twin needle, insert elastic into a waistband and so much more. What you will need: A pair of Fabric scissors, pins. All materials are included in the price. Payment Options: Option 1: R2600 for 5 classes. Includes all materials, patterns and use of a sewing machine. PAYMENT Full payment must be paid before you may commence the course. Terms and Conditions A minimum of 6 students are required to go ahead with the course. The start date will be confirmed in the week of the scheduled start. Classes may not be deferred and no refunds for missed classes. There will be opportunities to make up classes, in a group class at an extra charge of R300 or a private class at R500 for a 1.5 hour session .
