Service Description

FOR BEGINNER SEWERS eg. Graduates of The BASICS course or any other absolute beginners course so long as you already know how to sew on a machine, understand grainlines and the basics like seam allowances. WHAT TO EXPECT We will work with a basic T shirt/sweatshirt / hoodie pattern and create samples of different neck finishes and one completed T Shirt/Sweatshirt or Hoodie. We will learn to sew ribbing on the standard crew neck (high neck), and a V neck . You may choose to attach a hood and create a hoodie. We will also use a twin needle for hemming if we have time and work on an overlocker and normal domestic machine. We have a couple of patterns to choose from or perhaps you have your own. Its so much fun learning new skills and sewing in a group ! WE PROVIDE 1. Materials for the neck samplers 2. Patterns for you to use. Choose from a few options 3. Fabric for the garment - tracksuiting or single jersey T shirting 4. Overlockers and straight stitch machines 5. 7.5 hours of instruction and support You may bring your own fabric for the main project, if you prefer. But do speak with me before your purchase so that you can be sure to get the correct kind of fabric for the projects COST is R1500 incl fabric (valued at R150), and the Intro to Working with Patterns Workshop (value R200) TIMES - 7.5 hour workshop over 2 Saturdays.
