BEGINNERS GARMENT CONSTRUCTION - INTENSIVE

NOTE YOU MUST ALREADY HAVE COMPLETED THE BASICS COURSE OR KNOW HOW TO USE A SEWING MACHINE WITH A BIT OF SKILL

In this Beginners garment sewing course you will learn the basic skills needed for simple garments In the first 6 classes.  If the group elects to continue we will carry on with a further  4 classes of the 10 class option in which you will create a more advanced garment with a button stand, collar (shirt) or a dress with similar techniques.

Here is some of what you will learn, there is always more than I can write down here.

• How to read patterns and choose the correct size for you
• About a range of different seam finishes
• How to assemble basic garments like T shirts, trousers/shorts, a skirt or top with facings or binding, dress/shirt
• Cut, fit and sew one intermediate garment of your choice - featuring darts, button stand, collar and cuff - in the 10 class option only
• Learn how to insert sleeves, attach stretch cuffs, create elasticated waistband, insert pockets and so much more.
• Trace a multi sized pattern
• Learn basic pattern adjustments
• Get the benefit of my 35 years experience in sewing.  I have a wealth of tips and techniques
