INTERMEDIATE - SHIRT/DRESS 9 hours

NOTE THIS IS A 9 HOUR WORKSHOP OVER SATURDAY AND SUNDAY FOR INTERMEDIATE SEWERS ONLY - Graduates of The Beginners full course or any other course so long as you already know how to read a pattern, choose your size, lay up the pattern and cut. I will not be teaching these things. Some assistance will be given but this is definitely not an absolute beginner project. DATES ARE FLEXIBLE - WE NEED AT LEAST 4 PEOPLE TO GO AHEAD WITH THE WORKSHOP Intermediate workshops are over Saturday afternoon 12.30-3.30pm and Sunday 9.30AM-3.30. Immerse yourself in a slow sew for a weekend. This is the first of a planned series of slow sew workshops. We will work with a shirt, blouse or dress pattern that has a button stand, sleeves with cuffs or bound edge. You might choose one with a collar or bound neckline. You might need to make some adjustments to your chosen pattern like a full or small bust adjustment in which case you may choose to make a muslin to check fit before you make the final garment. Take your time and sew slowly while we learn some new skills or refine what we already have. We have a couple of patterns to choose from or perhaps you have your own. The group will work together to resolve any fitting issues and construction complexities. Its so much fun sewing in a group with a challenging project! You might not complete the garment in the weekend but we will try and cover all the complex stuff so you can work on your own. You may want to purchase a Studio Membership to give yourself extra sewing time in the Studio Sew it Together has sewing machines . You will need to purchase your own fabric, trims, threads and interfacing for the final garment. Tea and coffee and light snack will be provided on Sunday. Lunch may be ordered from the restaurants in Palmer Road or bring your own. Cost is R1200 for the weekend. You may purchase: 1. 2m of spunbond for tracing your size off our master pattern at R40. 2. Add R240 for an AO Size pattern printout if you want a copy of one of ours to keep. 3. If you know you are likely to have fitting adjustments to make you may order calico from us to work with to create your toille/muslin at R75 . 4. You may contribute R50 if you would like a pattern download to print at your own printers 5. If you need more sewing time in the studio you can take a monthly membership at R600 for approx 9 hours extra sewing time.
