FOR BEGINNER and AVANCED BEGINNER SEWERS Graduates of The BASICS course or any other absolute beginners course: you already know how to sew on a machine, understand grainlines and the basics. If you have not used a commercial pattern before please let me know. Patterns are for male or female bodies WHAT TO EXPECT We will work with a range of basic to intermediate pants patterns suitable for different skill levels and create a pair of pull on pants that feature pockets, elasticated waist and a drawstring. Make them as PJ pants or funky everyday pants. SKILLS LEARNED 1. How to create an elastic waistband 2. Create a buttonhole 3. Insert inseam pockets 4. Attach a patch pocket 5. Use an overlocker and normal domestic machine. 6. 2 fold hemming We have a couple of patterns to choose from or perhaps you have your own. Its so much fun learning new skills and sewing in a group ! WE PROVIDE 1. Patterns for you to use. You will receive an email with pattern choices upon registration. 2. Overlockers and straight stitch machines 3. 9 hours of instruction and support 4. Tracing Paper WHAT TO BRING FABRIC - You will need to bring your own fabric for the project. You will receive an email with the patterns to choose from. These will advise the kind of fabric you need and how much - this is why the workshop Introduction to Working with Patterns is essential. EQUIPMENT - Fabric Scissors, pins, tape measure, tailors chalk. You may order a Starter Kit if you don't have the basic tools. COST is R1200 excl. Introduction to Working with Patterns (compulsory if you do not already know how to read pattern requirements etc) R1500 incl Introduction to Working with Patterns *1 hour workshop on the Friday one week before the workshop TIMES - 9 hour workshop over 3 Sessions Day 1 -12.30- 3.30pm Day 2 - 9.30-12.30 pm Day 3 - 12.30 - 3.30pm YOU NEED TO DO the Introduction to Working with Patterns - 1 Hour to learn how to take measurements and choose the correct size and understand pattern notations. This is necessary so you can know what fabric to purchase, how much of it and what size pattern to have ready for the workshop Friday evening one week before the workshop date R300 Date to be announced

Thank you for registering yourself to learn a fun new skill and have some sewing fun in our Workshop To guarantee your place, please pay in full. Missed workshop will not be refunded but you may reschedule your booking 48 hours before the workshop if there is another scheduled date, or you are welcome to sell your space on to another person or gift it to a student who may not be able to finance their training. PLEASE let me know if you will NOT be attending as I will be preparing materials and going ahead with the workshop based on the number of paid registrations. If you have gifted the workshop to another please let me know so that I have their name. I cannot wait to have some sewing fun with you.
